The primary goals of SEWWG are to provide participating southeastern states and tribes with technical training, facilitate communication among wetland scientists, and encourage the exchange of data, techniques, and methodologies that enhance monitoring and assessment programs.
- Provide web-based training on wetland assessment, monitoring, and data collection methods or on other relevant issues (8 per year)
- Provide training on field identification skills of hydric soil indicators and wetland assessment methods
- Establish a web site for the group to share and collaborate information and results
- Provide statistical consultation of monitoring projects and analysis of monitoring results to evaluate wetland condition.
